A Project Manager assumes full responsibility of a named project: he/she should have a good picture of all ship building functions, from design to execution. A good project manager is technically trained and has good experience in ship building projects; he/she should also be familiar with latest techniques, tools and materials and is able to keep him/herself up to date on modern ship building methods. By character, a project manager enjoys dealing with several entities simultaneously. He/she has the ability to prioritize the parts in the project that he/she can add most value to personally and at the same time, successfully delegate the parts he/she cannot to others.
A Site Manager oversees the daily operations of a building site, communicates with suppliers, oversees health and safety on site and in general maintains a solid overview of the ship building process. A Site Manager shares a lot of the characteristics with a Project Manager; however the role is more of a generalist’s one with demands placed on communication skills (both internal and external) and fluent assumption of changing situations. To succeed in this task, the Site Manager should have technical training along with solid experience in the ship building industry.
An Interior Designer has a degree in engineering and experience of designing ship interiors. He/ she is keen in finding new solutions and likes to dig into technical details. An Interior Designer has the ability to work independently but share the understanding the value of team work. Good skills in Autocad and preferably also Solidworks are required.
An Administrative Assistant assumes many different roles on a site; from receiving invoices to arranging accommodation, communicating with suppliers and our own staff about administrative issues. A good candidate for this position has got preferably got fresh degree or is in the final year of studies and is keen to work in the ship building industry in a very exciting time period for it. By nature, Administrative Assistants are flexible and efficient; no two days are the same and often a fast-paced environment requires quick thinking and good skills in task management.
All positions require good skills in written and spoken English.
